12 things to enter the new year knowing.

As I sit and contemplate the coming year and wondering what is holds, some part of me is a little scared, a lot can happen in a year right? But there are so many comforting words in scripture to help with this fear, so if you, like myself welcomes this year with excitement but also maybe a little worry, fear, or anxiety than these scriptures are for you. Take a day to focus on each truth individually, write them down and post them where you will see them everyday.

1. If we remain in Christ He will remain in us. John 15:4

2. His Grace is sufficient, and His power is made perfect in our weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9

3. God has given us all we need for life and godliness. 2 Peter 1:3

4. He is with us always to the end of the age. Matthew 28:20

5. If we trust in the Lord we will be blessed; we will be like a tree planted in the ground, we will not be affected by heat or drought because our roots will go deep into the river of God, our leaves will remain green and we will not stop producing fruit. Jeremiah 17:7-8

IMPORTANT NOTE: the tree still goes through drought and heat, and other trials but when it remains rooted in God, it will not wither or fade.

6. Though we may be pressed, perplexed. hunted down, and knocked down we will NOT be crushed, driven to despair, abandoned by God, nor destroyed. For our power isn't from us but from Christ, this great treasure is inside us. Our troubles now are small in comparison to the eternal life that awaits us, our best life comes later. 2 Corinthians 4

7. When we remain in prayer and thanksgiving,God will give us a peace that surpasses all understanding, to guard our heart and mind. Philippians 4:6-7

8. Though we may have many trials and sorrows in this world, we can have peace because Christ has already overcome it. John 16:33

9. Jesus says himself that we are his sheep and he is our shepherd, that we know his voice and follow him and he knows us, that NO ONE can snatch us from him, and that God is more powerful than ANYONE else. John 10:27-29

10. Christ has gone ahead of us; ran the race, endured hostility and shame, and conquered it, He perfects our own faith, and when we consider Christ then we too will not give up or grow weary. Hebrews 12:1-2

11. Do not grow weary in doing good, for we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galations 6:9

12. If we give our lives to God and do not copy the world or the customs of the world, Christ will transform us into a new person by changing the way we think, then we will understand God's will for our lives, His good, perfect and pleasing will. Romans 12:1-2

To wrap up these verses, REMAIN IN CHRIST, no matter what this year holds we must remain in Him, then and ONLY then will we have everything we need for anything that comes our way.

I know this is all easier said than done, but don't start this year without someone that you can trust to remind you of these things, and keep you accountable. Though we may fail these truths never do.

My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak,    but God remains the strength of my heart;    he is mine forever.Psalm 73:26

Live Love in Action this Year:

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need.Practice hospitality.

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.
Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”says the Lord. On the contrary:
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him.
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Romans 12:9-21
