The deep breath before the free fall,
the decision to just get by, or give my all
the sand has been sinking since the drinking of new air
choosing joy, over despair. I reach for the untouchable
visions with no limits, a God who is unstoppable
who puts God in a box, who says it can't be done?
Why is our fear leading our faith, hasn't Christ won?
Plans fail for lack of vision, so let Abba make an incision
dissecting, perfecting, making Him more and us less,
let the healing begin, let him flush out the mess.
bring fire to my soul Lord, and remove the dross
let me die to myself and pick up my cross, because I know I am imperfect
and sin runs through my veins; yet your love is unconditional, your perusal insane.
My lungs are burning from running and turning from your Word, but they're truth and they're life that pierce through like a sword. So cut me open oh God I'm done with fighting, ignite and bring light to the darkness.
Spark this, and lead my vision, my life needs a new translation not a revision.
Too long have I looked in the mirror and evangelized myself, meanwhile leaving the bag of talents on the shelf. Will I bury or invest? Here's comes the test, am I now trying to please men, and being devoted to idols? search me oh God and reveal my wiles, for the heart is deceitful above all things who can understand? What is man? here today and gone tomorrow, where's my sorrow? Why don't I weep for the lost, and have a heart for your people? I'm just sitting beneath the steeple not making a change, becoming estranged, where has the love gone? What happened to the servants? we must remain fervent, and lean on God for every second of the day. He is the way, the truth and the life. Don't be enslaved by strife, move on and don't look back. Lord be strength in what I lack, help my unbelief, may my confidence in you be everlasting, and any fear brief. For you are my hiding place, my strong tower, and shield, To you I yield, my God and my King, you're my everything. Apart from you I am nonexistent, Lord help me be consistent, make every effort to bring you glory, this is your story do with me what you will, my spirit is listening, and my heart is still. <3 br="" nbsp="">

The Rising Moon...

     Tonight after a great night of gathering together with thousands of my fellow Liberty students, I left the building a little earlier to beat the crowd and to think about what was preached to us tonight. I waited for the bus and sat on the bench just looking all around and not being able to comprehend I am really here…a student sat down next to me and we just stared at the sky…then we caught a glimpse of something neither of us have ever seen before…we watched as the moon slowly rose behind the mountains…we could actually see it rising…giant and golden, it was so beautiful and I thought how in 22 years of my life I had never thought of watching a moon rise before…I mean sure it's not as glorious as watching a sun rise i'll admit but it was still incredible….another thought came to mind….often times when people say they are going through a difficult situation they say they are wandering in the dark waiting for the sun to rise…but what about the moon? is it not significant? does it's light not count? I am saying this because I believe God wants us to know that though we may be experiencing dark times, He is showing His glory EVERYWHERE, He is showing His power EVERYWHERE and He is showing you His love EVERYWHERE, just because it may not be what we want, doest mean it's not what we need, so be on the look out for those moon rises, and don't sneer at them, we can still experience God's light, comfort, and joy in the midst of the darkness. Don't give up, and don't give in! And most of all, treasure this moment in your life because there will never be a time when you are closer to Christ <3 br="" nbsp="">

GO TO GOD FIRST!

     Many times I've experienced moments where they have left me drained, sad, confused, upset, and frankly sometimes I do not know what is going on inside me, only that I'm hurting. It's times like these I am tempted to run to the people I love, and trust the most to hear what's going on in my life, to talk it out to them and share my heart; not realizing, that my heart is a jumbled pile of confusion, and when I pour it out on those I'm close to, they may not have much to say. If I am confused, of course they will be! 

     

     God revealed to me this morning something monumental to me, Hebrews 4:12-13. Now I have read this verse so many times, yet today something new was spoken to me about it. It says that....

For the Word of God is living and active. Sharper than a double-edged sword. It PENETRATES even to DIVIDING SOUL and SPIRIT, joints and marrow; It JUDGES the THOUGHTS, and ATTITUDES of the heart. NOTHING in all creation is hidden from God's sight EVERYTHING is UNCOVERED and LAID BARE before Him to whom we must give account.

The word of God Penetrates right through us to reveal what is REALLY going on within out hearts...Jeremiah 17:9 says...

The heart is DECEITFUL above all things, and BEYOND CURE. WHO can understand it?

WHO? The word made into flesh himself! Jesus Christ! So when we find ourselves in those moments where we are not sure what is going on in our heart of hearts, (or even if you think you know exactly what is going on) GO TO CHRIST FIRST!

He will DIVIDE our soul/flesh (mind, will, and emotions) from our spirit (The spirit God breathed in us that longs to follow God, and be perfected) in order to JUDGE  our THOUGHTS, and ATTITUDE of our TRUE HEARTS! 

Coming before the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords, our true hearts will be UNVEILED, and LAID BARE before Him, nothing will be hidden. Then, and ONLY then can we truly be impacted and changed, going through a transformation according to Romans 12:2

Do not CONFORM any longer to the patterns of this world, but be TRANSFORMED by the RENEWING of your mind. THEN you will be able to TEST and APPROVE what God's will is-His GOOD, PLEASING, and PERFECT will.

There you have it! This ^ word wraps it all together, and gives you a mega awesome gift from God! DO NOT CONFORM!

Definition of CONFORM

     Now you know the definition, DON'T DO IT! The patterns of this world DO NOT coincide with GOD'S PERFECT DESIGN, it will NEVER reach it, can't even come close. So go through the process of RENEWING your mind through the WORD of God, face the double-edged sword of Christ, and divide up the sinful nature, and our spirit. THEN, and ONLY then will we be able to TEST and APPROVE what the will of God REALLY is and not our deceitful hearts will!

      Lastly, at the end of verse 13 in Hebrews 4 we see the statement:

"To WHOM we must give account"

     Christ is expecting us to come before his throne, and unveil our inner hearts to Him. He doesn't want to hear what your pastor hears, what your friends hear, or the same thing you tell everyone else. He wants you to be LAID BARE no walls, no barriers, no facade, just the good creation He has made, and knows already, and longs to commune with! 

LIVE IT OUT!

Therefore, no one will be declared righteous by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.

- Romans 3:20

Wait....I'm not righteous and holier because I read the bible and go to church more than Jimmy? There is more to this whole "christian stuff"? 

YES! :) Righteousness does not come from attending church, reading your bible, praising and worshipping louder than others, doing more "good stuff". It can ONLY come from Christ, and Christ will only cleanse and work in you and walk with you if you SURRENDER your life to Him, and let Christ purify your life, and strip from you the stench of death of the world. 

Don't just listen, DO!

Don't just act, BE!

Don't just mention, PROCLAIM!

But don't just listen to God's word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.

17 “Therefore come out from them

    and be separate,

says the Lord.

says the Lord Almighty.”

7 Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.
